Throughout his career, Justin has been named best chef in Tulsa by Oklahoma Magazine, Tulsa Voice, Tulsa People Magazine, & Urban Tulsa Magazine. He has received numerous awards and recognition from the Chaine des Rotisseurs, has been featured in Saveur Magazine and served as guest chef at the James Beard House in New York City. Justin is also involved in numerous charities in Tulsa, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Child Abuse Network, and as Co-Chair of their Donor Relations Committee. Justin and his restaurant group have contributed to over one hundred different charities in Tulsa since 2011.
Heather Dusenberry is the Catering Director for Justin Thompson Catering. Heather moved here from Springfield, Missouri in 2009 and started working for Justin as the Catering Director at the Brasserie. She followed him when he opened his first downtown concept, Juniper and eventually became the General Manager before moving over to take over as the Catering Director for the group. Heather has a passion for wine and received a Level II with Distinction on the Wine Spirit Education Trust Assessment. In her free time she loves spending time with her friends, family, and dogs.
CHEF DE CUISINE
Dave Helmick has been working with Justin Thompson for over 13 years. He has honorably followed him from Brasserie, Sonoma, Dukes, Prhyme and currently serves as the Chef de Cuisine for Justin Thompson Catering. Dave is married to his lovely wife, Nona. They have 4 children and many grand children. When he has time off you will find him fishing or camping with his grandchildren.
Makayla Hess was born and raised in the Tulsa area and began working for the Justin Thompson Restaurant Group in 2014. She began her journey as a host and quickly moved up the ranks to serving and eventually moving into the kitchen as a prep cook and kitchen hand. This is when she found her true passion in cooking. Her favorite part of the job is plating and executing artful catering. In her off time she enjoys being in the outdoors surrounded by family and friends.
